
Advanced – Rat In Vivo Techniques
Earner developed hands-on experience in advanced dosing, anesthesia, use of surgical equipment, and survival surgery techniques. They gained knowledge in aseptic technique for surgery, controlled substances, anesthesia and analgesia, pre-, peri- and postoperative care, and other pertinent topics in laboratory animal medicine.

Earning Criteria
Required
Earner completed 8-12 hours of asynchronous online content and four 2-hour in-person training sessions. 100% attendance and scoring an average of 1.5-2 on all assessments. Once attendees complete the online content, they will attend the in-person portions, where they will be required to demonstrate proficiency in all covered techniques.
Utilized lab animal science concepts to perform advanced hands-on techniques commonly used while working with mice, including advanced dosing, anesthesia, and surgical techniques.
Performed at least three post-operative checks following survival surgery.
